Accommodations in Tubingen and Bodensee Areas

My wife and I will be driving around Southern Germany (Rothenburg, Tubingen, Freiburg, Bodensee area, Fussen/Garmisch) September 27-October 3rd. Can anyone recommend accommodations in Tubingen? Also, given our limited time and treating it as a stopover on the way from the Black Forrest to Fussen, is there one town (and a place to stay) on the Bodensee (Lake Constance) that anyone can recommend for a brief one night/one day stay? Any help is greatly appreciated!

For the Bodensee, look up Lindau. A picture-perfect little town on the lake.

In the first place, if you are looking for accommodations, etc in Tübingen and Füssen it might help to spell them correctly. Tubingen and Fussen are incorrect spellings. Those two little dots over the vowels are not ornaments; they make them completely different letters. Tuebingen and Fuessen have historic validity and can be used.

Near Tuebingen is a small town, Herrenberg. It's quaint with a lot of old Fachwerk buildings and remains of a town wall. I stayed there once at Pension Kirchgasse. It's right on the town square and the hostess speaks English.

As for Bodensee, I too would recommend a stop in Lindau. It's a bit pricey so I have never stayed there, but I have made four day trips to Lindau from the Oberallgaeu.

Another place to stay might be Sigmaringen. It has an old Hohenzollern castle. I've stayed there twice at Hotel Traube, which is right on the town square.

Okay, use of the umlaut is hardly a requisite for asking questions or submitting replies on something so informal as the Helpline, and it's clearly not necessary when performing internet searches. Let's cut Matt a little slack...I think we all know to which cities he was referring. It's not reasonable to expect people to take the time to execute the correct PC/Mac procedures to place umlauts over the vowels that normally require them when using this website.
