We have a friend who lives very close to the montparnasse train station. We would like to stay someplace close by for easy visiting. I would ask her, but she is in the midst of job applications and wedding plans... she offered to have us stay there, but I don't want to impose at such a busy time. Thanks, Amy
Hi Amy, You can easily get to the Montparnasse station from just about any metro line. Depending on how long you are staying and the purpose of your visit (are you just going for your friends wedding?), I'd say choose a place you will be able to access your main goals from (Eiffel, Notre Dame, etc). And then just take the metro to see your friend. Of course, if you are going to attend her wedding (and perhaps events surrounding that) which will all take place in that area you might want to stay close by. I recently stayed near the St Michelle metro stop (Holday Inn - Notre Dame - I highly recommend it), and we took the metro to the Montparnasse station to head out of Paris for the day. Only took us about 15 minutes or less to get there. Have fun!
