Our family of six (two grandparents, two parents and two 12 year olds) will be traveling from Paris to Verdun in June. Verdun will only be an overnight stop on our way to Rothenberg, Germany. Any suggestions about a reasonable place to stay?

In Verdun, the main hotel in the town center is Hostellerie du Coq Hardi. A * (two star) accommodation but also reportedly popular is Le St-PaulI have not slept in Verdun so my info is via a web search and other posts here.

In June 2006 we stayed at Hotel Montaulbain** (see RS France book). Room was clean, neat, somewhat old-fashioned, larger than most in France, up several flights of stairs, and inexpensive. Parking is nearby.
