Looking for recommendations of accommodation near Cochem. I have tried many places in Cochem and having difficulty finding a place on Sept 4th. Not sure if it is because we only want one night.
Would prefer recommendations that are in the direction of Frankfurt as we are flying out of Frankfurt the next day.

This B&B in nearby Bullay has clean, simple rooms with balcony. Bullay is just a little place on the river with very good train connections and a good location for doing walks or taking bike rides. The breakfast spread is second to none. We've stayed there twice.

I, too, had trouble finding reservations in Cochem, but not because it was just one night, it was four, but only one person. I finally got a reservation in a Privatzimmer in Treis-Karden. When I got to Cochem, I saw "Zimmer Frei" signs all over.
You should think about Boppard. A line of nice American oriented Hotels along the river walk, on the Rhein above Koblenz. I would recommend Rheinlust, but Belleview is a Best Western. Boppard is a major stop, which means you can get an RE, which doesn't stop at small stations like St. Goar or Bacharach, all the way to FRA.
Another place to spend the last night would be Braubach, at the foot of the Marksburg, on the right bank of the Rhein.
