Needing 1 nt accommodation in late June for sr. fit couple travelling by train into Amsterdam central. Relatively inexpensive but safe, clean, non-smoking. Can do shared bathroom.

hi, if no one answers, you can try using booking.com. it has filters so you can taylor to your $$ and desires. also, you may want to state if you have any preference in WHERE you want to stay? happy trails.

We can recommend the Hotel Fita and the Wiechmann. The Fita has an elevator and the Wiechmann has stairs...lots of them , but probably one of the best locations in Amsterdam.

Checkout the RHO or Avenue Hotels. Both are in the Dam Square area.

Check budget hotels on www.hrs.com. Read reviews on Trip Advisor, then visit the hotel websites themselves. See which offers the best deal. Also check Airbnb for some low priced apt. rentals. You may even find something unusual like a canal boat to sleep on.

If you don't mind hostels. Vondelpark hostel isn't bad. They don't allow smoking (so you have to walk through a cloud of pot smoke to get into the building) and it's clean and well run. The hostel is very close to the museums and a convenient tram to get anywhere else in town.
