i am getting married this jan. i am lookig for a honeymoon trip to switzerland but it is too expensive to travel there. i love snowy mountains and comfortable journey in trains. is there any other place to visit which can fullfill all my needs and in managable money

Naveen, what is the best place for you to fly into from India? Maybe Paris or Milan? Or Zurich? I am thinking of Chamonix-Mt. Blanc in France for your honeymoon. Beautiful mountains and you can reach it by train. If you fly into Zurich you could even take the scenic Glacier Express train through the Alps from Chur (1.5 hours from Zurich by train) to Brig and take a regional train from there to Martigny where you catch the train to Chamonix. I think you would spend 2 nights in Switzerland that way. Coming to Chamonix from Paris woudl be through France.

You should consider Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany. This resort area is near Germany's tallest Alp - the Zugspitze - and you'll have plenty of snow. Train connections to Munich are good - about 1.5 hours. And you can travel by train to Mittenwald (a small mountain village) or to Innsbruck Austria by train as well.
