We are arriving in Aachen after a long day of waking in St. Goar, boat to Koblenz, train to Burg Eltz and then train to Aachen. I cannot find any available accomodations for July 10th. Is there some type of festival that has all the rooms booked? We need something very close to the train station and Hotel-Marschiertor has not even responded to our (2) inquiries.

try www.expedia.com - they show several with availability. It's a very short taxi ride to the town center which you'll like better than staying near the station.
