Hey all, I could use some help planning a week long trip to Andalucia. I'm flying with my wife and baby in and out of Malaga and renting a car. Right now I'm hoping to drive around the white villages for the first 1.5 days (we get in around 12) and then head to Seville, Cordoba, and Granada and then back out. I'm having trouble finding info on cheaper hotels that offer non-smoking rooms and I'd like some feedback on the itinerary to see if you have any other recommendations. Thanks.
Well, worthwhile cities and towns are: Malaga, Granada, Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, Gibraltar (for a few hours only but it's quite interesting to see just HOW different it is from the rest of the area) and Seville. The most beautiful white village to me was Ronda. There is NO NEED to stop in Marbella, it's just giant concrete buildings lined along a beach that looks just like any beach you might find in the US as well. Cadiz can be done as day trip from Jerez. Take the ferry boat across the bay, it's a lovely and scenic ride. Do visit the Camera Obscura in Cadiz! And spend the late afternoon hours at the kite beach. Then have dinner in the romantic streets of Jerez, Spains most Arabic looking town. Also since Seville is mainly a big and busy city you could do it as day trip from Jerez, which we did. The only interesting thing to see in the Huelva area is the place where Columbus startes his sail to discover the New World and the replicas of those vessels. But it's quite a drive from..
..Seville for just that ONE sight. We've been there three times now and have always rented our car from doyouspain.com. It's always worked out 100% fine, not a single problem. And they don't charge your credit card until you've actually picked up the car.
