A Sunday afternoon in Aachen

My husband and I will be taking the train from Paris to Paderborn, Germany on a Sunday. We'd like to stop in Aachen to visit the cathedral. Are there lockers or somewhere else to stow our luggage at the Aachen railway station? Can we comfortably walk from the railway station to the cathedral? The walking directions I got from Google maps include a disclaimer that the route they gave me (1.2 km) may not truly be suitable for walking.

Hi, To answer your question on the availability of lockers at Aachen Hbf.(train station), the answer is yes. I spent an afternoon in Paderborn, see the area of the cathedral.

1.2 km is less than a mile, and as I recall, the route from the station to the cathedral slopes gently down hill. I would think this is one of the least difficult walks you are likely to encounter. It's about as difficult as walking down the Champs Elysees.
