A romantic place in Paris for a marriage proposal ???????????

Hi fellow Steves travelers,,

I planning a day trip from London to Paris. I am looking for a romantic restaurant with a great night time view of Paris to pop the question.... Any suggestions??

Saying that... Any other suggestions in Paris where to "Drop a knee" and pop the question?

Thanks,

E

It's tradition to Pop The Question at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Good Luck

The Eiffel Tower would be my suggestion too -- cliche though it is.... Dusk would be a good time, assuming the weather is not too cold. But you will have to deal with a lot of other tourists around, and the lines queuing for the elevator. If you want a more intimate setting, there are millions of cute bistros to choose from. The Pont Alexandre would be nice too.

Agreed, the Eiffel Tower. Make sure that its the Jules Verne resturant (there are two resturants). It is pricey but the food is very good. Be sure to get your reservations in early. I made reservations three months in advance and could only get in for lunch but it was worth it. An alternative would be a resturant in Monte Marte. Very quaint, full of charm and romantic.

If you plan on dining at Jules Verne in June you're only going to get lunch reservations. They are booked solid for dinner through the 30th. Three months for advance reservations isn't unusual.

You could always get a nice "picnic" lunch together and pop the question in Jardin des Tuileries. Then in the evening take a river cruise to see Paris at night.

Maybe I am biased, but the absolute perfect place and time is as below: Spend some time making up a picnic lunch...cheese, bread, fruit, good wine...and go to the Champ De Mars, the park that stretches out from the Eiffel Tower, at night, just after dark/dusk. The tower will be lit up, and the park will be filled with locals, mostly young, having a late dinner picnic. Get yourself situated, admire the view, and pop the question.

I agree with the person who said do a picnic and stretch out in the park. With the Eiffel Tower sparkling..wine...fruit...cheese - there isn't much more romantic than that. AND - it's much less expensive than the restaurant.

Yes -- I agree with the suggestions of picknicking on the Champ du Mars (be sure to bring champagne) I have done this in the evenning and it is wonderful, beautiful. this can be a good altermative to a fancy restaurant, if the weather is good.

Go with the Champ du Mars at dusk, which is 9 or 10 PM in the summer. The tower sparkles for a few minutes on the hour and that is the perfect moment to pop the question (in French if you are daring!) You can get your picnic food/drink stuff in the Rue Cler section nearby. GOOD LUCK!

A dinner cruise on a boat on the Seine in the evening would be nice also, if the ET doesn't work out.

Romantic? Try sunset sitting on the banks of the Seine with a bottle of wine. All the best to you!

If you are religious -- on the steps of Sacre Couer in Monmarte over looking Paris.

I got engaged to my lovely bride on the Eiffel Tower. There was a spot resembling an old English phone booth on the second level that proved quite romantic. A crowd formed and cheered when my bride said "I do". Something we still fondly remember.
