a day in Paris

I am an artist from Little Rock, Ar and will be watercoloring with a group on the Amalfi Coast Italy
Sept 22-29. I am choosing a flight home with a 17 hour delay in Paris (CDG) from about 4 pm till the flight leaves for Atlanta at 8 am on the 30th. My plan is to stay at the Sheraton at the airport and take a train into Paris, which should put me there early evening. I am tempted to take my backpack of art supplies and plop down somewhere and paint. Does anyone have a recommendation....should I go to a restaurant and take an outside table...like I do in Italy? There may be some regulation against outdoor (plein air) painting...???? Any help would be appreciated. bob snider

Champ du Mars, the Trocadero patio, somewhere along the river. Parisian cafes might frown upon your and setting up shop to paint. Ask first.
