hotel reservations

I am having trouble getting emails to German and French hotels. I am using the 2011 Rick Steve email addresses preceeded by infos@. For example, [email protected] for the Hotel Turenne in Colmar. Can someone help?

The first thing to be mentioned is that the word is "info" not "infos." I would suggest that you get the exact email address of each hotel that you are looking for. Some use hyphens in the address, some end with the country, e.g., .de for Germany and not .com
Good Luck.

To add to Joan's very good tips: if you can't get an e-mail to go through using an address in Rick's book, Google the hotel using the name and the words "official site" (such as "Hotel Turenne Colmar official site"). You have to wade through the TripAdvisor and paid booking engine listings, and sometimes the hotel's website doesn't show up until the second page of search results. Then, on the hotel's page, look for their contact information. I just followed my own advice, and got this website for that hotel: http://www.turenne.com/uk/index.php. On that page is a booking engine (so you can book the room directly). But you're right, when you click on "contact-us," the e-mail listed is indeed [email protected], with the "s" in "infos." So, if that's not working, do an online booking on their website, or use the phone or fax number.
