Hi, I am going to Spain in early April on a private tour. I'd like to take three days prior to Spain to visit Medjugorje. Can this be done? Thanks,
Edie
That's definitely not a typical combination, but you certainly can visit both, as long as you can afford the flights. They're much too far apart to connect by any other means. You'd want to fly open jaws ("multi-city"), from the US into Medjugorje, and out of Spain to the US. You'd then fly from Medjugorje to Spain. Here's a website on travel to Medjugorje: http://www.travel-medjugorje.com/medjugorje-transportation This website says that the closest airports to Medjugorje are Sarajevo, Dubrovnik or Split. My sister lived in Sarajevo for a while, so I know that flights to and from this airport (code SJJ) are limited. Be prepared for several connections, and for some tight connections as well. I like http://www.kayak.com/ for finding trans-Atlantic flights, and http://www.skyscanner.com/ for finding flights within Europe, but there are others.
Thanks for quick reply. The flights don't seem complicated. I am having difficulty on the web finding information on visiting this area alone without signing on for a week long guided tour.
Yes and I want to go to this particular one. Thanks for the suggestion, even tho it might make more sense to go to Lisbon. Please see other reply.
