It'll take you just under an hour from CDG to Gare St Lazare. You'll switch from the RER B to the RER E by walking five minutes between Gare Nord to Magenta. You'll get off the E Line at Haussman St Lazare and walk another five minutes to the St Lazare SNCF station. It'll take two to two and a half hours to get from St Lazare to Bayeux, depending on what time you leave.

What time is your flight scheduled to arrive at CDG? More importantly, on what date will you arrive? Major work on the tracks between Paris and Caen will begin in mid-July. During the construction period it will take 3-5 hours to get from Paris to Caen and the trip will require several connections.

Tom, You may find it very helpful to have a look at This Website, as it provides an excellent description on the trip from CDG (including photos). You should be able to purchase tickets for the entire trip to Bayeux at the airport. However, you won't be able to use the automated ticket Kiosks, as those ONLY accept "Chip & PIN" credit cards (as well as Euro coins). That means you'll have to join the queue at the ticket office, so you'll need to allow some time for that. Happy travels!
