Floriade 2012

We are going our first trip to Europe and planning to go to the Floriade at the end of May. We will be in Dusseldorf, Germany near the International airport. According to the Floriade website, we will be able to take a train to the Venlo railway station, and then a shuttle bus. I cannot find information on purchasing shuttle bus tickets other than the prices. Will we have problems buying the tickets, waiting, etc to take the shuttle bus to the Floriade? Will we be able to take backpacks in the Floriade? We have not purchased the tickets yet but plan to get them online in the next week. Any help would be appreciated - there will be 5 of us traveling.

Please use the (hard to see sometimes) search function at the top right to read two or three recent threads. However, I've not seen a post about the railroad stations shuttle. I strongly suspect that it is free. Please post about the shuttle after you go! As I have posted elsewhere, I strongly recommend that you buy your entry ticket online in advance. This would mean that you have a valid ticket with a barcode if they should want it for the shuttle. (BTW, I bought a car parking ticket in advance, and the dude in an orange vest simply collected it - I think the parking gates were not working right!) Dusseldorf is an ideal base for Floriade. I didn't use them, but I found a Germany-only website for a bus tour company called Univers that was picking up in other NR-W German cities and including admission in their trip. That's important because other than D'dorf, there can be multiple train changes to Venlo. Note that I and some others were underwhelmed by Floriade. We stayed in Cologne specifically to go to Floriade on the way to Amsterdam. I would have liked to see Maastricht, but it's the other way.
