We are taking two days to drive from Sarlat to Paris in early June. Rick's books have no suggestions for towns or accommodations along a direct route. Do any of you have suggestions? We have already done the Loire Valley area a couple of times before.

How about Oradour-sur-Glane and Chartres? O-sur-Glane is, at most, 30 miles out of the way, Chartres is 20 miles out of the way of direct from Sarlat-Paris.

We stopped at Oradour-sur-Glane on the way from the Loire Valley to Sarlat last fall. It was a great stop very sad, but moving. It only takes a couple of hours to see, so I don't know if it rates an overnight. I also don't have any recommendations on where to stay.
