Vienna to Munich

Hi, Take the train from Wien Westbahnhof (west train station), the Railjet train, takes a bit over 4 hrs. to get to Munich Hbf., stops also in Salzburg. The other trains could take up to six hrs.

I agree with Fred. For train trips under 6 hours or so, it doesn't make sense to fly, as you'll spend that long even for a short flight getting from your hotel to the airport early enough, security, and then when you arrive getting from the airport to your hotel again. Whereas the train stations are always more centrally located and easier to get to.

I agree. In case you're not familiar with West Banhof: (1) the trains are on the second level; (2) if you travel to the station on the u-bahn, the West Banhof rail station is to the right of the u-bahn exit.
