My husband and I will be traveling to France in June/July. We'll be 8 days in the South. The original plan was to rent a car in Lyon and drive to Nice in 8 days, visiting small villages etc... My husband will only turn 25 in August, so the car rental have been a huge problem as most rental companies charge a large youth surcharge. I need advice as to what to do... Does ADA.fr charge youth surcharges? I'll appreciate any advice... THANKS
I'm pretty sure most USA companies either have a surcharge or won't rent to anyone under twenty-five. I'd never heard of ADA but I just did a dummy run on the site you provided for a week in June from Nice. The differential between a person twenty-four and a person twenty-five was 225E for the week. The higher total being 530E. Hertz, for the same car, same location, same time, has a 259E surcharge for a total of $412E. You have to be twenty-five to rent from Budget outside of the US. I didn't check any other companies.
Charindie, call up AutoEurope.com here in the U.S, tell them your predicament, and ask them whet they can do for you. They usually will "bend over backwards" to accomodate customers. You may also want to call their EU branch, and make the same inquiry.
