How long does it take to travel by TGV train from Paris to Avignon? Also, how much do those tickets cost? Thanks in advance.

Travel time is 2hr40min. The standard 2nd class fare is €94.00. If you book well in advance (up to three months allowed) at tgv-europe.com, you can get a Prem's fare as low as €25.00. To keep the site in English and to avoid being bumped to the Rail Europe site which doesn't offer discount fares, first choose Great Britain as your country of residence. Then choose to stick with tgv-europe.com rather than going to raileurope.co.uk. Choose Great Britain as your ticket retrieval country. Don't worry. Even though you choose Great Britain, you will be able to either print your own tickets or pick them up at any SNCF station in France.

I just purchased tix from Paris to Reims on the TVG site. All went smoothly and I was able to p.o. Etickets. Only thing I should have done is booked a couple of days earlier. Would have saved about ten bucks a ticket. So book ASAP exactly three months out if you have the time before your trip. Also remember to use European type dates: so US date of 01/10/1955 would be 10/01/1955. Also, cost is much cheaper than Rail Europe especially with their service charge (none on the TVG site).
