planning on hiking in Berner Oberland. should i go last week of June&1st wk of july(less crowded?cheaper flights)or last2wks of july(better weather?)?
I'd go late June/early July. We've had equal amounts of rain and sunshine going in June, July or August so you never know about the weather. But the benefits of the earlier dateare the lower prices, fewer people, and the wildflowers are at their prime.
There's going to be little to no predictable difference in weather between those time frames. And the Alps don't really get "crowded" like a museum would in peak season. Hotel bookings would likely be tighter in August (European holiday time), but even then, it won't feel like there's a mob of people up there.
thanks for the advice!!
