My college age daughter and I are traveling by train for 3 weeks around Europe. We have 4 days in Paris and 3 days in Normandy. Should we make a stop in Rouen while we are there? Is it worth the cut in our open itinerary before we leave to go to Switzerland and Italy? We are staying in Hostels so accommodations can be flexible for us. Any suggestions are welcome!
Tastes vary. I think Rouen is worth half a day. If it is enroute and you have time, I would certainly stop and walk about the old town.
I did a daytrip there from Paris ( its only 1.5 hours by train) year before last,, and couldn't help but feel bad that I hadn't booked an overnight. I do think its worth a day at least.
Should qualify with this, when I went it was decent weather, and Rouen is definately a town to wander around in,, perhaps if weather was terrible I would have felt differently.
