Luggage storage in Madrid

I would like to store luggage in Madrid (or maybe Malaga) so I can travel on to another city in Europe. Is there safe storage in either city and can I leave my luggage there for several days?

Madrid´s Atocha train station has luggage lockers, and is also the point of departure for the high speed train to points south (Cordoba, Sevilla).
