What is the best/easiest way to do a day trip from Seville to Gibralter?

My daughter is in Seville & I am going to visit her. We are going from Seville (on bus or train, she is making that arrangement) & are going 1st to Jerrez spend the night in Algeciars,then next day go to Gibraltar, then back to Seville. She says it is almost impossible to do Gibraltar from Seville as a day trip. Cathy

By car it is 2hrs 20mins one way from Seville to Gibraltar. Rentals cars are very cheap in Andalusia and driving there is very easy - just like in the US, Germany or any other right-hand-side driving civilized country ;-)
