Hello! I am planning to rent a car in Spain, but I have a party of 7 persons. Does anyone have experience with an Opel Zafira? It supposedly seats 7 but I am trying to determine the dimensions of the truck space to ensure that it will fit our luggage. Thanks!

With it configured to carry seven, it will hold luggage for two, maybe two and a half. Plus, the three people in the middle seat had better be very skinny kids.

I have rented Zafiras before. No way will it handle the luggage unless there is a rack on top and even then will be tight and a pain. Will seat 7 but SQUEEZED. This is not a van as we know in the U.S. Not nearly as big as an Odyssey or Caravan. You will have to split up or find a nine seater that is like a mini bus. I would call or email rental agencies and be specific as to your needs. Some of them rent larger vehicles for tour groups which is what you need.

Our group of six adults rented an Opel Zafira in Italy several years ago. We were able to squeeze into the van only because we had limited our luggage to one carry-on bag each, the guy in the rear-most seat was forced to be a contortionist, and the three ladies in the second seat were very friendly. No way will you be able to haul 7 people and luggage. And, in my experience, rental car agencies specifically do not allow luggage or cargo to be carried externally.
