We will be arriving in Zurich in mid August. We will be spending 5-6 days in Switzerland before heading to Venice to meet with the rest of our group. I would like to get some ideas on travel. This is our first trip overseas.

A good place for you to start is to get a copy of Rick Steves
"Europe thru the Back Door" and read it all. It contains lots of excellent European travel information. Then I would get a copy of his Switzerland guide book and read thru that. Then you should be more focussed on what you want to ask here on this web site so you can get more specific answers.
