We're looking for a short 3 or 4 day vacation out of Amsterdam and are open to possibilities. Thinking of Brussels, Bruges, Paris, but love to hear other ideas.

Rick Steves has a number of recommendations for open-air museums in the Netherlands. That might let you make the most of your short vacation. You can find those RS recommendations at this site and via www.Google.com

I left Bruges a week ago. Bruges is pretty cool, but the Grand Place in Brussels was outstanding. One of the highlights of this trip.
Bruges is about a three hour train ride from Amsterdam, and Brussels is one hour from there.
