I'd like to plan a trip to Vienna, Austria, for New Year's Eve week, 2007. But, before I do, I'd like to know what is open/closed, so I just won't be twiddling my thumbs in my hotel room. Any advice/comments would be welcome! Thanks so much and please feel free to email me. [email protected]
Hi;
With the exception of a few restaurants most everything is open. Vienna
comes vibrantly alive during this time, the normally reserved Viennese
break out of their mold and celebrate throughout the city. We were there
in 2003 and went to the Heiligenstadt district to Restaurant Englehardt
where we had a great meal while overlooking Vienna, at midnight the city
lit up with colorful fireworks...it was fantastic! A word for the wise,
reserve your restaurant early as most book up for New Year's. Where do
you stay in Vienna? We usually rent an apartment, much cheaper and a
great experience as well. Need any more info or questions feel free to
write.
