Hello! We are planning a 3 1/2 week trip in June. We will start in Paris for 10 days and end in Barcelona for a week. The question is - where to go in between?! We've been gravitating towards Provence, for many reasons, especially its position in between Paris and Barcelona. We will NOT have a rental car, as we do not want to deal with car seats. So, where can we park ourselves for 6 days/nights? We would like to do day trips by train or bus, but generally to be somewhere that we can enjoy the town/food/wine, etc and relax! Thanks!

Avignon is the best transportation hub, for bus connections throughout Provence, and linked from Paris by TGV. Arles would probably be the 2nd best choice. Try to pick a place with a pool and handy to a bus stop, without necessarily being in the center of town. Unfortunately, I can't make a specific suggestion, since the places I know in the area are more car-friendly - sorry about that.
