My teen-aged daughter and I will have 6 days in Germany(with the possibility of part of Austria). I am looking for recommendations as to where to go. I initially thought Munich, Rothenburg and Salzburg. However, as I continue to research, I keep changing my mind on where we should go! There are too many fantastic sounding places to visit! What are the destinations you would choose if you only had 6 days? BTW, we would likely be doing all of our travel by train. Thank you for your input! Jeannie

With just 6 days, I'd limit myself to 4 days in Munich and 2 days in Salzburg. It's almost a 3 hr train ride each way to Rothenburg (with 3 train changes), which is in the opposite direction of Salzburg. If you'd like, you could take a side trip to Mittenwald or Garmisch-Partenkirchen, both of which have non stop train service of about 1.5 hrs from Munich and offer beautiful scenery.
