6:30am Munich?

Hello:

I arrive by overnight train to Munich at 6:30am in the morning. We can not check into accomodation until later in the day. Can anyone suggest what we could do in the time we are waiting to check in. We will be staying the the Moosach area.

Thanks!

Jodi, I must have taken the same train as you.. LOL.

The restaurants are opened, so after we found our hotel, gave our luggage for them to hold, we found a great cafe near one of the platz's, and had a wonderful breakfast buffet.

We returned later in the afternoon, when our room was ready.

Store your luggage either at the train station or your hotel, eat some breakfast, and then take the Mike's bike tour at 11 am to see the sights of the city. Have fun!

Is it customary for hotels to hold your luggage like that? We arrive at 6:30am from Prague, and it would be great if we could do that. We were planning on going to the Deutsches Museum that first day since it will be a Monday and a lot of other sights are closed on that day...

You could stow bags, have breakfast, and then take the S-7 out to Herrsching - hike up to Andechs Monastery and have lunch there after your visit. Details are all in Rick's book.

I realize that your are arriving on a Monday, but I wanted to share that we arrived in the Munich Airport on a Sunday at about 6:30am. We hopped on the train to the Marienplatz to our hotel, stored our bags, and went to the big cathedral for Sunday morning services. We don't speak German so we didn't understand the words, but it was interesting to see the local families all come piling in and the music was wonderful.
