My current plan is as follows: 3 nights in Rome 2 nights in Vernazza-> 2 Nights in Grindelwald->
4 Nights in Munich I realize it'll be a travel windstorm, but any suggestions on how to improve?

It would also help if we knew what you wanted to see and do... but anyway... Because your schedule is kind of tight, if you want to see the Alps, I would skip the detour to Switzerland, and head straight through the Tyrol region into Munich. The Berner Oberland is more isolated than it appears on a map, and you'll have a better chances of good weather in the Tyrol.

Ditto what Tom says. The detour to Grindelwald will be very time consuming. Head through Austria. Stay in the Dolomites or Innsbruck.
