my husband and i will be going to innsbruck, via car, for 3nights at the very end of october. recommendations on lodging or general tips for the area that time of year? any info would be greatly appreciated! thanks!!!

Just got back from a visit to Innsbruck last month: the Hotel Weisses Kreuz was an AWESOME hotel right on the main drag of the old town, walking distance to everything (the cable car up to the Karwendel Alps, the River Inn, and just a few hundred feet from the Golden Roof, amid all of the shops and cafes). Mozart slept here with his dad enroute to Italy. The interior is just beautiful, and the hosts were delightful. We had a very early departure, and they made breakfast just for us...at 5:30 AM!
