Hi Ellen, I grew up in this area, not specifically Maison Lafitte (sp?), but St. Germain-en-Laye. We drove in and around Maison Lafitte often. I have been back to the area recently and it is still nice. I can't speak specifically about Maison Lafitte itself, but the area is nice, country-ish, lots of trees, old homes set back from roads, and also new, nice developments. Again, I can't speak specifically about the town itself, which I'm sure is nice, but I can about the area. I would bet money that you will like it. The French love camping and their campgrounds are usually very nice. Maison Lafitte is very near St. Germain-en-Laye, and the RER goes from there right into Paris. I think it takes about 20 min. I hope you have fun!
