I'll be traveling to Italy, France, Germany, then Switzerland in a few months, and I'm trying to understand Swiss customs. I assume I'll have gathered some souvenirs and the like from the first 3 countries, and I understand I won't have trouble in the Schengen Zone, but since Switzerland is not in the EU, I'm not sure what the regulations are. The only thing I found was that I can bring personal effects, as long as they are used, into Switzerland. But what about souvenirs?
Thanks!
Haha, I can guarantee that I won't be buying any of those, so it looks like I'm set, Thanks!
Heath, it won't be a problem. Tourists traveling through, unless carrying large amounts of currency or goods, or smuggling in illegals goods, are not what customs is looking for. With only souvenirs, you won't have to declare anything.
When you return to the U.S., well, that's another story.
