We have a 5 hour layover in route to Luxembourg. We arrive 8:30 and then leave at 1:30. I figure we have about 2.5 hours to do something safely without missing our connecting flight.
Any suggestions?

Two suggestions, both involve cabbing it downtown and back to save time. First....get dropped off at Placa Catalunya, then walk down the Ramblas, then cab it back from the foot of that wonderful street back to the airport. Or...cab to Placa Catalunya, and take the hop-on-hop-off bus tour. There are three circuits thru Barcelona, two of them leaving from Placa Catalunya. There's also a big TI there for maps, info, etc. See a bus tour map at their website, www.busturistic.com
