Hi,
My wife and I are going for business trip in Italy in 2 weeks time. After that, we plan for a leisure trip to Switzerland. I can enter Switzerland via Venice or Milan. Someone told me to take train from Venice to Zurich and then join those local tour there ( as my time is limited) and on other hand someone recommended me to enter via Varenna ( lake como ) and take the panoramic train to Switzerland and then move along from there by my own. I have only 5 days to spent in Switzerland including traveling. My aim is to experience the amazing scenic view. Which area shall i concentrate? Can anyone recommend a 5 days trip for me? I will depart to my home country from Zurich at the end of 5th day. Thank you. David

With only 5 days, I would recommend the Berner Oberland area. It is truly the alps and there is more than enough to see in 5 days. RS has a lot of information about the BO in his books. Murren, Lauterbrunnen or Wengen are great places to stay. I was in Switzerland the last part of August and first part of September and the weather was amazing.
If you take the train to Zurich, you can travel on to Interlaken and the BO very easily from there.
