Has anyone leased a car in France? If so what company? What car model? Any problems? Would you do it again with the same company & car model?
We've leased through http://www.autofrance.net/ several times.I believe their office is in New Jersey. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Made the whole process easy.
Each time we leased a Peugeot 308 . 2 of us with several bags were very comfortable and enjoyed the driving experiences.
Would definitely do it again.
If you're staying long enough (there's usually a minimum lease term of about 17 days), leasing through Renault or Peugeot is great. Best of all is that the leases include all insurance coverages plus 24/7 roadside assistance. Plus, you get a brand new car. We've done it a few times with Renault and it was totally hassle-free.
Karen - I leased mine through Autoeurope. It was very easy and we had no problems dealing with them. I would do it again any time. It is nice that the lease is all inclusive and they don't nickle and dime you for extra money. I have also rented through them (they are a consolidator) and will be probably be using them again for our upcoming trip. They do have a 17 day minimum. What car you choose depends on what you need. We leased a minivan because we needed to seat more people. They picked us up at the airport (we flew into Frankfurt) and drove us to the location where we picked up our brand new vehicle. Everything had been arranged prior to going, so all I had to do was sign one thing and away we went. When you rent a car they often charge extra for extra drivers. With the Autoeurope lease, anyone directly related to you (spouse, sibling, parent, adult child) can also drive. You can go to autoeurope.com and see what cars they have. I believe they are all Peugeots.
Karen, we leased a car from Renault Eurodrive, we had a Clio diesel, we we're 2 adults and a 9 year old, space was just enough for us. I recommend getting a diesel much cheaper. We loved our experience, we would definitely do it again. It comes with unlimited mileage, all inclusive insurance, and you can have more than one driver for no extra fee.
