I am traveling to Europe next month by myself. I have never stayed in Zimmers. Can you usually find a Zimmer in most cities in Germany, Switzerland, etc?

Homes which have rooms to rent often fly a flag which reads "Zimmer Frei" (means 'room available for rent'). Ordinarily, such rooms are very attractive, comfortable, spotless and, best of all, reasonable.
"Zimmer Frei" is common in most German and Swiss villages and cities.
Inquire at Tourist Information (such as at train stations) for directions to the nearest "Zimmer Frei". Have a great trip, P.
