I have an Atlanta to Paris (CDG) to Venice flight and have a companion who smokes. I have three hours at CDG and am wondering two things - (1) do we have to go through immigration & customs in Paris, and (2) will we be able to find some smoking areas during the layover? Thanks!
Smokers have to go outside the building; there is no smoking area in the airport.
I travelled through CDG in February on my way to London. We didn't have to go through immigration and customs, but did have to go through security again after we got off the plane and rode the bus to the terminal.
There are now smoking areas in the CDG airport. In terminal 2 they are on the "lower" level in the gate area. (There's a therad on them in the Paris forum on TripAdvisor.com you might try doing a search there for more info)
Thanks everyone for your input!
