Sixt Car Rental

Has anyone had a problem getting a GPS system with their Sixt car rental? My reservation says "Depending on availability: Navigation system" - will I have problems getting a GPS?

Any other recommendations for car rental places in Spain that will include GPS? I already looked at AutoEurope and you have to bring the GPS with you, and I don't want to deal with that. Also looked at EuropCar (which I've had sucess with before in Europe) but Sixt's rates were much cheaper.

Three thoughts:

I've never been happy with Sixt about anything.

For the price of renting a gps, you can probably buy one -- no kidding, price it both ways and see what happens.

Try for a rental using kayak.com (uncheck the expedia box and check the carrentals.com box). I find this site works better than all others.

Actually, the price of GPS with Sixt is very affordable (6 euros a day). And I did do a Kayak search - and it spit back Sixt as the top 5 cheapest options (that's how I went to Sixt in the first place).

Anyone have specific experience with Sixt and GPS reservation? Thanks!

I probably sound like a broken record, but if you're a Costco member, try their travel site. I don't know about Spain, but in France, I've gotten the best deals with them hands down (beating all the European consolidators). We've ended up using Avis most of the time -- no drop charges, good discounts, extra drivers free, etc. GPS has always been offered. But I agree with the previous poster, consider buying it yourself, especially if you think you may be going back.

I rented a car in Avignon from Sixt that included a GPS. I didn't need or request one, but it was the least expensive deal I could find compared to non-GPS cars from other rental firms.

Our Sixt experience was very good.

Thanks Neil, I think that was exactly the reassurance I needed to hear!

Sixt is my preferred car rental company. They've got the best and densest station network in Germany, great service, great cars and you almost always get one with built-in GPS anyway. Sixt is market leader in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and that's for a reason. So don't worry.

Sixt is my go-to rental company in Europe, and I've never had a problems getting a GPS. In fact, several times I had a GPS without even requesting one.
