Train Travel in Spain

I am going to be travelling through Spain this summer with some friends and I was just curious if anyone knew anything about the trains and how expensive they are. Would it be wise to get a Eurail pass if we are only going to 4 places. Are there regional? trains like the ones in Germany that cost only about 21 euros for a group of 5?

Thank you for your help!!

It depends on your route and whether you can book in advance. Tickets that you can print at home go on sale at www.renfe.es 62 1/2 days in advance, and you can get discounts as high as 60%, but they go quickly. You need some rudimentary Spanish to get thru the website, but translate.google.com should be adequate. However, if you can't book in advance then a pass would probably be beneficial if you are using a lot of the high speed lines, eg. Madrid-Barcelona or Madrid-Sevilla. Let us know your itinerary and we can give you some fares.
Unfortunately, there are no regional tickets like those available from DB.
