As I have it mapped out right now we will be driving through Cochem, Trier, Luxembourg City, Verdun, Reims, and Epernay on our way to Paris (5 days) as part of our summer 2013 vacation. Time can be added to this travel segment but at the expense of subtracting days from Paris. I am planning on spending 2 nights in Cochem for sightseeing and biking nearby. Departing Cochem we would make quick stops in Trier and Luxembourg City and spend a half day at the WWI battlefields near Verdun and then continue on to spend the night in Reims. The next day we would sightsee in Reims and take a champagne tour there and another in Epernay before driving on to Paris. I would like to know of any non-Rick Steves sights to see along the way and alternate towns to pass through. The flight is booked but no lodging has been reserved so there is flexibility on where and how many nights to stay along the way. Don't worry if the pace might seem too hectic as this is how we normally travel and we can always relax in Paris (not really).
