ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR BEST AND REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS IN COLMAR? MY HUSBAND AND I WILL BE THERE FOR 4 NIGHTS. WHAT ABOUT CHEZ LESLIE B & B OR HER APARTMENT IN TOWN?
We stayed in a great hotel called La Maison des Tetes. It is also one of the major historical buildings in the center of town. They have some rooms that are reasonably priced. Check it out on their website or on Trip Advisor.
I would skip dinner at their restaurant -- pretty expensive and the slowest meal I've ever had.
I believe Chez Leslie is not in the central old town. We could not find it so we stayed at Hotel LeRapp. It was nice enough.

Chez Leslie is not in the center of old Colmar. If you've a map of Colmar, you'll see the train station is on the edge of the old town; Chez Leslie is just beyond the train station. Whether you're traveling by car or train, it's very convenient, and because you're not in the heart of old Colmar, there is plenty of free parking. Walking to town involves a short walk through a residential neighborhood, past a grocery store, through a clean safe busy walkway under the railroad tracks, and through the station. The rooms are large and comfortable and a very nice continental breakfast comes with travel advice from Leslie, complete with her supply of maps and brochures. Obviously I enjoyed my stay.
