I'm going with my best friend's aunt..and good friend. She doesn't drink and gets nervous socially. Thinking about doing the midnight pub crawl...anyone done it? Is it fun alone or with a quiet friend or what? also, good thoughts for Iceland??
I’ve visited Iceland, and it’s an amazing place. While I haven’t done the pub crawl, I can tell you that Reykjavik’s nightlife is famous in Europe…partying from club to club all night and well into the morning (4 a.m.). You can join a pub crawl tour…4 hours of pretty hard clubbing, and you’ll get into clubs that you normally wouldn’t be able to visit. I’m going to guess that this probably isn’t something your friend would enjoy much if she doesn’t drink and finds social settings awkward. Rather than go alone, I would join a tour for maximum fun and good companionship. Nearly every Icelandic person speaks excellent English…no need to worry about language barrier. For your friend, perhaps you could go out to the Blue Lagoon for a quiet visit one day…spa, dining, bar, etc. Also, rent a car and get out of the city for some incredible natural scenery…you don’t have to go far.
