On the last day of our trip in Switzerland and Austria, we planned to drive from Salzburg to Shoenau am Koenigssee, spending a few hours there before before going back to Salzburg and taking a train to Munich. We would spend some time exploring the Altstadt before taking another train to the airport to fly to London. We would need to be at the airport by 7:00. The train to Munich from Salzburg takes 1 1/2 hours, and the train to the airport takes 40 minutes. Would this be too rushed, and if so, where should we cut out some time? How much time do we need to explore Koenigssee and Munich's Altstadt without rushing?
So we could spend only about 2 hours in Munich and see quite a bit, then? What about in Koenigssee: should about 4 hours be enough to do some hiking and go to the church?
A comment on what James wrote... you can see all those things within 90 minutes from the outside, but obviously you'll need to budget more if you want to see the interiors.
