I just read the warning on the Rick Steve's 2009 update suggesting not to frequent the Albayzin area after nightfall. I was really looking forward to experiencing a Moorish character hotel. Any feedback from recent visitors or suggestions for other hotels in Granada? Thanks in advance!

We weren't looking for Moorish character in our hotel in Granada, we were looking for accessability in parking our car. Perhaps look for a hotel in the area of the Plaza Nueva then you are only a short walk to the Albayzin.

Hotel Anacapri in Granada - stayed there with the RS Tour last Spring. Close to everything - right up a block or two from the main street into town and the Cathedral. And the main plazas below the Alhambra right too! Nice rooms, off a small street so it s a bit more quiet and also had a PC with Internet in the lounge. Run by an American lady who married a spaniard (I think she was from Ohio!?)
