Can anyone tell me if I should purchase individual tickets ahead of time if I am not buying a railpass? I am thinking that I should since I will be traveling in June (Barcelona to Madrid to Granada and Ronda to Cordoba.) Where can I purchase now to lock in my seat? Sorry if this info is available and I missed it. I have read and researched so much, I am getting confused! Thanks in advance!

I'll be in Madrid later this year and have learned much about connecting the cities of Spain by rail from Norm on this site...perhaps he'll weigh in. You might wish to re-post this message with "Spain" in the title...you'll probably get some very helpful advice. As for my daytrips from Madrid, I'm planning on simply purchasing tickets as I go just a day or two ahead of time from either a Renfe office or travel agency rather than at the stations. I'll have both AVE and non-AVE journeys.
