Has anyone attended the wine or beer festivals in Stuttgart?
Similar to Oktoberfest in Munich?

On Tripadvisor there is a local expert from Stuttgart, MarcoPolko, that loves to relate explain events in the Stuttgart area. Such as:
"The Cannstatter Volksfest (www.cannstatter-volksfest.com), 29Sept to 14Oct, is the world's second largest beer festival and attracts over 4.6 million visitors and has more rides than Munich's."

Ahhhhh, I have GREAT memories of the Fruehling Fest in Stuttgart. http://www.stuttgarter-fruehlingsfest.de/
It ended today, but I have no idea when you're going... I believe I attended the fall fest as mentioned above because I think it was going on about the time I arrived there to study at the university. I still have the liter mugs that I smuggled out of the tent. When we visited Stuttgart in Sept 2007, we went to the wine fest. It was pretty cool. Live music and a ton of restaurants had outdoor restaurants set up with their wine, and a few different dishes. http://www.stuttgart-tourist.de/ENG/leisure/weindorf.htm
