3 nights - itinerary help

Hi All, I have 3 nights in Switzerland and I'd really appreciate a little insight. I would LOVE to see part of the Berner Oberland, but I'm not sure if I have enough time or if it's too difficult logistically.

We are taking the train from Florence up to Switzerland on the first day arriving Luzern at 1:20PM. The plan was to spend 3 nights in Luzern (1/2 day Luzern, 1 day Mt. Pilatus, 1 day Bern side trip). If we add in Berner Oberland, we'd only spend one night in Luzern. Where in the Bern Ob should we go and will we have enough time with 2 nights there? We are leaving on the 4th day for Milan arriving Milan mid-day. Any insight is very appreciated.

It's probably too late for this, but if you can re-jigger your itinerary so as not to have to return to Italy, you can save a day.

For instance, put Switzerland at the end of your trip, and fly home from Zurich.

I can't recommend the BO highly enough, in season. And Berne is okay, but really not in the same league.
