3 nights Brussels where to stay (apartment) family of 5

We are arriving in Brussels, family of 5 adults, August 20. Can you recommend an apartment; good area to stay in and what we should see and do in 2 days. Thank you. Peter

(donning tin headwear awaiting hand grenades from the pro-Brussels faction) Go to Gent and Bruges for day trips. Or better - stay in either. Both are very close to each other and to Bruxelles.
